Committed to design quality closure with fast return on investment (ROI), Satin Technologies delivers software solutions for fact-based design quality monitoring. The company was founded in 2006 by electronic design automation (EDA) professionals with decades of experience in intellectual property (IP) and system-on-chip (SoC) design. Satin Technologies is a privately held company with offices in Montpellier, France.
Satin Technologies develops and licenses VIP Lane®, an innovative software solution for fact-based design quality monitoring and closure. VIP Lane® allows semiconductor companies and system houses to deploy standard and internal design practices (IP, SoCs, embedded systems) via the intranet, for facilitated design quality monitoring and at zero overhead for design teams.
At Satin Technologies, we think that design quality results from a number of engineering practices throughout the block or chip life cycle, and requires careful daily management rather than subjective scoring a posteriori.
We also believe that large semiconductor companies (IDM, fabless, IP vendors) as well as system houses cannot satisfy their need for a robust quality strategy only by making large investments in EDA and product lifecycle management (PLM) tools. In most cases, these companies have defined best design practices, based on their own experience or as a result of specific market requirements (e.g. design-for-reuse for IP developers, or FAA standard compliance for aeronautic devices). They certainly want to see such practices widely adopted throughout their design teams, easily monitored and reported, then ultimately turned into design productivity gains plus fact-based compliance to the relevant design quality standards.
With the above challenges in mind, our company aim is twofold :
